This choreographic blog physically explores how different people interpret words. The dancers are given a series of action-based word prompts in order to create a solo. The prompts given to all participants are the same action-based words in the same order. I manipulate the solo’s time, space, and energy to create a finished product. The purpose of this blog is to show how we process the same words differently in order to bring insight to commonalities and miscommunications between individuals with differing perspectives.
The Compilation of Series 1 is posted below! This compilation shows the solos broken apart to reveal what each dancer did for a particular prompt. I encourage you to comment on your observations of the dancers choices in relation to each other. What do you notice that is similar or different?
